What we are selling

Every piece on this site is handwoven on a handloom. We publish the cluster it came from, the technique used, the days it spent on the loom and the number of people who worked on it, and we stand behind those figures.

Photographs are taken in daylight and are not colour-corrected to flatter. Even so, a screen renders colour differently from cloth, and a handwoven piece varies within itself. The description and the making record are the authoritative account of a piece — not the photograph.

Where a piece carries a Geographical Indication designation, we say so on its record and do not use the name loosely.

Prices and payment

All prices are in Indian Rupees and inclusive of all applicable taxes. The price shown on a product page at the moment you order is the price that applies.

Payment is taken at checkout by UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking. Payments are processed by a third-party payment gateway; we never see or store your full card number.

Prices can change without notice, but a change never applies to an order already confirmed. If a price is listed wrongly through an obvious error, we will contact you before processing and you may confirm at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.

Orders and acceptance

Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send you a despatch confirmation, not when you complete checkout.

We may decline an order where a piece is unavailable, where the price was wrong, where we cannot deliver to the address, or where we have reason to believe the order is fraudulent. If we have already taken payment on an order we decline, it is refunded in full.

Almost every piece is unique and held in a quantity of one. Where two orders reach us for the same piece, the first confirmed order takes it and the second is refunded in full.

Delivery, returns and refunds

Despatch windows, delivery charges and the treatment of late or damaged parcels are set out in the shipping policy. Your rights to cancel, return and be refunded are set out in the returns policy. Both form part of these terms.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Using this site

You may browse, share and quote this site freely. You may not scrape it wholesale, resell its content, or use it in a way that interferes with its operation or with anyone else's use of it.

You may not use our photographs, films, field notes or weaver profiles commercially without written permission. The weaver profiles in particular are published under consent given by named people for this site; republishing them elsewhere breaks that consent, which is not ours alone to give.

Intellectual property

The text, photography, film and design on this site belong to Suka Indian Handlooms or to the people who made them, and are protected by copyright.

The traditional techniques documented here belong to the weaving communities that developed them. We claim no ownership over ikat, kupadam, gollabhama or any other inherited technique, and nothing on this site should be read as such a claim.

Liability

We take care that what is published here is accurate, but we do not warrant that the site is uninterrupted or error-free.

Our liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any right you have to bring proceedings where consumer law entitles you to.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the head of this page tells you when it last changed.

Tap the heart on any piece to keep it here while you make up your mind. Saving does not reserve anything — a last piece can still go.
