Shipping & delivery

When a piece leaves the workshop, what it costs to send, and what happens if it arrives late or damaged. The dates quoted here are the same ones the buy box quotes on every product page.

When your order is despatched

A piece held in stock is despatched within 4 working days of a confirmed order.

A piece marked made-to-order has not been woven yet. Its despatch window is the number of days it spends on the loom plus four working days for finishing and packing — the figure printed on that piece's own record, because it differs from loom to loom.

Working days exclude Sundays and public holidays in Telangana. Weaving is handwork in a domestic workshop, so a festival week or a monsoon delay can move a date; if it does, we write to you rather than letting the date pass in silence.

Finishing services add days

Finishing is done after you order, on your piece, by hand. Each service adds to the despatch window:

  • Fall and pico (+3 working days); Kuchu tassels on the pallu (+3 working days)
  • Choosing to have the piece despatched as it comes off the loom adds nothing.

Delivery charges

Delivery anywhere in India is free. The price shown on a product page is the price you pay — it is inclusive of all taxes, and no shipping charge is added at checkout.

International orders are despatched from Hyderabad. Shipping is quoted at checkout by destination and weight. Customs duty, import tax and any clearance fee levied by the destination country are payable by the recipient and are not included in the price or the shipping quote. We cannot predict them and we cannot pay them on your behalf.

Tracking

A tracking number is emailed when the parcel is collected by the courier. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to become active on the courier's own system.

Every parcel is despatched insured, and every order ships with a care guide and the making record for that piece.

Late, lost or damaged parcels

If a parcel is more than seven working days past its quoted delivery date, write to sukahandlooms@gmail.com and we will raise it with the courier and keep you posted in writing until it is resolved.

If a parcel arrives damaged, do not discard the packaging. Photograph the parcel as it arrived, including the outer packing, and send the photographs to us within 48 hours of delivery. A piece damaged in transit is replaced where an equivalent exists and refunded in full where it does not.

Delivery addresses

We deliver to the address given at checkout. An address cannot be changed once a parcel has been collected by the courier, so please check it before confirming.

If a parcel is returned to us undelivered because the address was incomplete or nobody was available across the courier's attempts, we will contact you to arrange a re-send. Re-despatch on a returned parcel is charged at cost.
